SECURITY

AIM+ multifibre shell

The shell of the Shoei Hornet ADV helmet integrates AIM+ technology that offers high rigidity and very light weight. The structure of the shell is made up of various layers of fiberglass, organic fibers and high-performance fibers with the ability to distribute impact energy with optimal rigidity.

EPS shock absorption system

We use a double density EPS for shock absorption. When an impact occurs, it is progressively and effectively absorbed in balance with the stiffness of the shell. The EPS incorporates a series of channels to allow air to circulate without restriction, further enhancing the ventilation characteristics of the Shoei Hornet ADV helmet. In addition to improving shock absorption and ventilation, precise placement of the EPS results in a more compact and lightweight helmet design.

EQRS security system

After developing innovative safety-related solutions for racing helmets such as the X-SPIRIT 3 and the VFX-W, Shoei has incorporated its exclusive EQRS emergency quick release system into the Hornet ADV. This system allows medical personnel to easily remove the side padding of the crashed pilot's helmet. Once the side padding has been removed, it is possible to remove the helmet safely from the rider's head without having to force the neck area, thus avoiding possible injuries.

VISOR

The totally new design V-460 visor integrates an air inlet, which closes and opens by means of a shutter, adapting to the Hornet ADV in its shape and position. A wedge-shaped concept that limits air resistance has been adopted to control drag and lift forces. While minimizing the influence on aerodynamic performance in high-speed driving. The V-460 is adequately shaped and large enough to offer its two basic functions; that of parasol and protection for the face against stones, mud and branches.

Its integration in the shell is done by means of 2 screws and inserting the central part in its corresponding fixing point. Plus, traditional hardware has been swapped out for a simple 90-degree twist for secure attachment and quick removal.

Interior padding

A comfortable fit is essential for a good driving experience. The Hornet ADV is equipped with fully removable, washable and replaceable inner padding made of very soft fabrics with high moisture absorption and quick drying thanks to 3D Max-Dry System technology.

Also included is a removable nose cover that can be inserted into the top edge of the chin guard to help reduce visor fogging by diverting hot air to the underside of the helmet.

VENTILATION

During driving, a high performance of the ventilation system is necessary, especially for dual-use helmets that are used in very diverse situations. The Hornet ADV offers advanced ventilation performance by improving the top air intake of the visor and placing an additional air intake in the forehead area.

For the first time, a top air intake has been included in the center of the Hornet ADV's visor to effectively direct air into the helmet. This piece has been designed exclusively for the Hornet ADV and achieves high ventilation performance. The introduction of a shutter allows the air intake to be closed when it is not necessary, adapting to winter driving.

An air inlet has been included in the forehead area. As in the case of the X-Spirit 3 and NXR, an inlet has been placed in an area where driving wind pressure is high and air is sucked in effectively. Fresh air enters the helmet through these two holes, improving cooling performance.

Air vents

The rear air outlet has a very peculiar shape. The ventilation mechanism has two holes on each side, four in total, and effectively expels hot air from inside the helmet.

In the lower rear part of the shell there are three air outlets that expel hot air from inside the helmet, especially in the area of ​​the neck, efficiently using the negative pressure of the air caused by driving. In this way, an effective expulsion of hot air from inside the helmet is achieved.
