• - In the ROADTEC 01, Metzeler has developed a new tread design concept capable of improving mechanical grip and traction, with clear improvements in acceleration and braking.
• - The front tire incorporates a large number of transverse grooves that grip the asphalt as unique elements and increase the amount of water evacuated.
• - The rear tires incorporate long and short grooves with different orientations and functions:
• - During braking, the short grooves prevent lateral movements and provide greater motorcycle stability.
• - During acceleration, the long grooves improve compound traction, especially on low friction surfaces.
• - The orientation of the grooves also contributes to increased mileage: both the groove design and the area where they are located have been studied to obtain a high fill/vacuum ratio and to have a large area of rubber in contact with the ground.
• - At the same time, the orientation of the grooves follows the direction of the wear lines, ensuring regular tread wear and maintaining the pattern until the end of the tire's life.

• - The contact patch of the ROADTEC 01 is shorter and has a larger area compared to the ROADTEC Z8 INTERACT, which brings us two main characteristics:
• - Reduces compound slip, delaying tire wear.
• - Acceleration forces and motorcycle weight are distributed over a larger area, reducing stress and compound overheating.
• - The tread footprint of the ROADTEC 01 includes a greater number of grooves and bridges that are in contact with the ground at the same time, improving mechanical grip, water drainage, and the feeling of safety. It also ensures a larger amount of rubber in contact with the asphalt, especially at medium lean angles, allowing for better chemical grip from the beginning of the lean.
