It goes without saying that any helmet requires a high level of safety. In the case of a premium motorcycle helmet, not only is its ability to absorb an impact in the event of an accident important, but also high aerodynamic performance, good visibility, efficient ventilation, a comfortable fit, a compact size and a light weight. The new Shoei NXR2 full-face helmet was born as the new Premium sports helmet that brings together all these characteristics.

SECURITY

AIM multifibre shell

The Shoei NXR 2 helmet shell integrates AIM technology that offers high rigidity and very light weight. The structure of the shell is composed of various layers of fiberglass and organic fibers with the ability to distribute the energy of impacts with optimal rigidity.

As in the previous model, a very compact shape has been achieved for the shell of the new NXR 2. In addition, a very comfortable fit has been achieved, thanks to the lateral cut of the shell that widens when putting on and taking off the helmet.

EPS shock absorption system

The new NXR 2 has an EPS made up of 2 parts with materials of different densities for shock absorption. When an impact occurs, it is progressively and effectively absorbed in balance with the stiffness of the shell. The EPS incorporates a series of channels so that the air that comes from the ventilation systems circulates freely inside the helmet, thus obtaining a highly effective evacuation of hot air and humidity from inside the helmet. In addition to improving shock absorption and ventilation, precise placement of the EPS results in a more compact and lightweight helmet design.

Screen System

The new Shoei NXR 2 helmet is equipped with the new CWR-F2 visor, which offers a wider field of vision thanks to its new shape along with a sportier design. The optical characteristics of the new CWR-F2 have been optimized thanks to its curvature and thickness, further reducing possible distortions and providing a clearer and more natural vision.

EQRS security system

The new Shoei NXR 2 helmet has the exclusive EQRS helmet emergency quick release safety system. This system allows medical personnel to easily remove the side padding from the helmet of the injured pilot. Once the side padding has been removed, it is possible to remove the helmet safely from the rider's head without having to force the neck area, thus avoiding possible injuries.

Interior padding

A comfortable helmet fit becomes an essential factor for a good riding experience. The interior padding of the new NXR 2 perfectly complies with this perfectly. The new NXR 2 has fully removable, washable and replaceable inner padding made of very soft fabrics with great moisture absorption and quick drying.

The inner cheek pads have been redesigned while maintaining the NXR's characteristic side cut line. These new side paddings have been designed to reduce the sensation of pressure when putting on and taking off the helmet, providing greater mobility around the neck to be able to look back if necessary. Additionally, the lower end of the padding has been oversized to prevent noise from leaking through this point, in addition to offering a soft and comfortable fit around the neck.

In addition, soft fabrics have been used for the areas of most contact with the skin when putting on and taking off the helmet, together with fabrics with high moisture absorption and quick drying in the contact areas with the most tendency to sweat.

The central padding, as was the case with the NXR, has been designed using 3D Max-Dry Interior System II technology to match the contours of the rider's head. In this case, soft fabrics have also been used in the areas of contact with the skin when putting on and taking off the helmet, together with fabrics with high moisture absorption and quick drying in the most sweaty contact areas.

nose cover

Also included is a removable nose cover that can be inserted into the top edge of the chin guard to help reduce visor fogging by diverting hot air to the underside of the helmet.

VENTILATION

The new Shoei NXR 2 has a lower air intake, a front air intake with two holes and two additional intakes on both sides to provide stability and adequate airflow, especially in the sport driving position. Thanks to the internal structure of the EPS, through which air circulates from the intake holes to the inside of the helmet, the rider will experience highly effective ventilation. The rear air outlet under the integrated spoiler is made up of four holes and has been enlarged for greater expulsion of hot air from inside the helmet.

With an improved balance of air absorption and expulsion, a high-quality ventilation system is achieved that is capable of cooling the entire head evenly, achieving rapid and effective air renewal inside the helmet.

When driving for very long periods of time, the main cause of stress for the rider is the noise caused by the wind that penetrates the interior of the helmet. This could fatigue the motorcyclist and, in turn, could also reduce the concentration of the motorcyclist to drive safely.

The aerodynamic shape of the helmet and the hermetic protection system of the vision area minimize the appearance of noise caused by the wind. The new NXR 2 has a very different vision area rubber contour compared to the previous model with which it has been possible to improve the sealing with the screen, something that has a direct effect on the intrusion of water, wind and possible noise caused by this.

Aerodynamics

Shoei has a large-scale experimental wind tunnel at its facilities in Japan. By using these facilities, data obtained through research and development is accumulated with all helmet models and its know-how is reliably applied to evolve new helmet models. The new NXR 2 is no exception and all of Shoei's knowledge has been applied to obtain the best aerodynamic performance.
