AIM multifibre shell

The outer shell has been manufactured applying the exclusive Shoei AIM technology which provides great rigidity and elasticity together with a very light weight thanks to the use of different glass fibers and organic fibers with a capacity to distribute the energy of impacts with a optimal stiffness. Safety is guaranteed by complying with the strict standards of each country.

EPS shock absorption system

We use a double density EPS for shock absorption. When an impact occurs, it is progressively and effectively absorbed in balance with the stiffness of the shell. The EPS incorporates a series of channels to allow air to circulate without restriction, further enhancing the ventilation characteristics of the Shoei GT-Air 2 helmet. In addition to improving shock absorption and ventilation, precise placement of the EPS results in a superior design. of the most compact and light hull.

Screen System

In Off Road driving we see many falls and accidents, for this reason the performance of the helmet in absorbing impacts is one of the most important factors. VFX-WR's shock absorbing EPS liner provides optimal shock absorbing performance with different types of hardness for each layer.

Shoei has developed a new shock absorbing liner mechanism for the new VFX-WR. A more advanced version of conventional double layer coatings. While the main EPS layer absorbs impact from the outside as usual, the inset portion of the EPS liner takes care of reducing rotational acceleration energy to the head by oscillating the inset portion of the EPS liners in the event of an accident.

Surprisingly, this value has been reduced by 15% compared to the VFX-W (Value obtained in internal Shoei tests).

Micrometric security closure

A micrometric safety closure makes it very easy to put on and take off the helmet. The locking mechanism is made from 100% stainless steel instead of plastic to ensure safety and meet Shoei standards.

EQRS security system

The GT-AIR 2 is equipped with the EQRS quick release emergency system. This system allows medical personnel to easily remove the side padding from the crashed pilot's helmet. Once removed, the helmet can be safely removed from the rider's head without having to strain the neck area, thus avoiding possible injury.

SUN VISOR

The new GT-Air 2 has an integrated sun visor that is easy to activate, for example, when entering or exiting a tunnel or similar areas where visibility changes suddenly. To reduce the amount of light that enters between the lower edge of the visor and the eyes, the new QSV-2 sun visor is 5mm longer than the QSV-1 that the GT-Air was equipped with. On the other hand, it has a more accentuated arch for the nose to prevent the visor from rubbing against it.

It should be noted that safety in the event of an impact will not be affected thanks to an increase in the shell on its external face which, thanks to careful design, means that a large helmet cannot be seen.

The QSV-2 screen has great optical performance, complying with the strict regulations for sunglasses in Europe and the US. It has anti-scratch and anti-fog treatment, the UV filter is greater than 99%, the edges are profiled for the pilot's safety in the event of an accident and, of course, it can also be easily disassembled and assembled.

Interior padding

The interior padding of the new GT-Air 2 is made up of different types of fabrics. Fabrics with high moisture absorption and quick drying have been used in the area of ​​the cheeks and forehead, where you tend to sweat more. The softest fabrics are used in the areas of greatest friction when the motorcyclist wears, puts on or takes off the helmet. These details offer greater comfort when wearing the helmet.

The cheek pads are made up of different layers of polyurethane with different densities depending on the area in contact with the rider's face to ensure a firm fit and excellent comfort. The central padding matches the contour of the rider's head thanks to the 3D Full Support Inner manufacturing system.

nose cover

Also included is a removable nose cover that can be inserted into the top edge of the chin guard to help reduce visor fogging by diverting hot air to the underside of the helmet.

VENTILATION

It has been shown that heat or humidity inside the helmet affects the rider's concentration, for this reason a lot of attention has been paid in the development of a good air renewal system in the new GT-Air 2. Although the design of the shell still retains some details of the GT-Air, the ventilation mechanisms have undergone important changes that improve the flow of air inside the helmet.

Great care has been taken in the design of the new air intakes, the size of the shutter has been reduced, expanding the intake space for greater air flow. Air is efficiently sucked in with the shutter open and is directed towards the rider's mouth area and in turn towards the visor area to help defog the visor if necessary.

Air vents

Rear air vents are located to the left and right of the integrated spoiler with a shutterless design, constantly open, and fully integrated with the outer shell. The hot air inside the helmet is expelled through 4 holes, 2 on each rear outlet.

The Shoei VFX-WR helmet is equipped with a larger nose piece to improve air intake performance. Thanks to the new nose piece, riders breathe easier during off road riding. In terms of design, its shape fits perfectly with the rubber edge, increasing the feeling of unity with the shell and giving the VFX-WR a very aggressive touch.

Inside the nosepiece, a mesh filter is housed to keep out dirt and dust. The aluminum grid will prevent small elements or stones from entering the interior of the nosepiece. Of course, the nosepiece is completely removable with a single screw for easy cleaning and maintenance.

integrated communication system
